Product Description
October Country is making two great Maxi Balls. They are a pure lead bullet with a super effective hunting bullet design. Not lubed. This is the preferred bullet of experienced hunters because you can use your lube of choice. They are accurate, hard hitting and deliver knock down power. The hard to find .58 cal bullet weighs 580 grains and has a .585 diameter. Made in the USA by October Country, a manufacturer of muzzleloading supplies.
Small items or small orders are shipped through the Post Office are sent in a flat rate box or in a first class padded envelope for $3.25 to $12.50. Postage fees may vary due to destination, insurance and excess weight. The $14.00 at check out is a standard and WILL NOT be the shipping charge. It will be adjusted depending on the order and size of flat rate box we use!

Maxi and round balls

I received my order of 100 round balls and 60 maxi balls in .58 caliber. They look great and it was hard to find many .58 caliber balls or bullets and at a decent price.

Haven't shot em yet. Using up the last of my 530 gr. stock first, but these were shipped quickly, quality looks good and given the generally unavailability of .54 cal ammo anymore, was glad to be able to stock up.

Received the product packaged nicely
and in a reasonable time. Examination of the Maxi balls looked like the originals at a decent price.
I will get out and try them out then I will write a follow up.

Perfect 54 cal hunter round

With the companies having done away with the 50 cal maxi hunter and great plains I worried about finding the perfect deer and bear Minnie style ball. I ordered these and have been really happy with the accuracy through my White Mountain Carbine and the knock down power when hunting. I will definitely recommend these!

One of the problems with a monopoly is the lack of competition to keep quality up.
While other calibers of Maxi Balls can be had from other sources, not .58.
I was very disappointed with the .58 Maxi Balls from October country. Whoever cast them did not know how to cast bullets. They all had the deep wrinkles typical of an unfilled mould, and that is why I titles this, "Lead Raisins."
