Our Frontier powder horns are nicely done in a plain or antiqued finish. The base plug is a simple wooden dome with a brass staple to secure the end of the strap. The tip has raised flats so the strap fits just behind them. The large horns average size will be 11-13 inches. Horn comes with the boot lace strap but you can upgrade to one of the straps listed in powder horn accessories. Made in the USA by October Country, a manufacturer of muzzleloading supplies.

This is a great powder horn for the money. It looks good, is functional and affordable. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good product at a good price.

A nice attractive horn for a reasonable price.

I was looking for an early 19th century plain powderhorn, similar to the ones pictured in Madison Grant’s “The Kentucky Rifle Hunting Pouch”. The antiqued Frontier Powderhorn neatly tucked into that search criteria and priced to sell.
The horn is well constructed, nicely antiqued, with a paneled spout, turned spout plug, oval base, and convex base plug. It also comes with a staple in the base plug and leather thong for a strap. But the latter can be changed to whatever your style of caring a horn happens to be.

+/- 2 years ago I bought the Frontier Horn and Frontier priming horn set, with the leather strap etc.
I've been a BP shooter for over 40 years and will say honestly that you just won't find a nicer/better horn set for the $
Beautifully matched horns, polished just enough but not "overdone". to the point of being SHINY
The main horn is 12 1/2" and holds just over 1/2 Lb. of 2F powder
The priming horn is 4 1/4" and holds 300+ gr. of 4F powder I bought and installed a 3 gr. measuring spout, allowing for 100+ pan charges per fill-up !
They may SEEM a little pricey at first, but once you've owned one(or a set) for a while, and realized your powder is NOT caking in the horn no matter how long you leave it filled, you'll realize why they're more than worth the cost !
