Product Description
October Country Replacement Rods come in 3/8" diameter, 17 3/4" to 28 3/4" long with 8-32 or 10-32 threads on both end. These rods are a direct replacement for your factory rod. We can make custom rods, we just need to know the length and the diameter contact us directly for custom rods.
For rod lengths refer to the ramrod reference page above (ramrods). If you don't see your gun in the list measure your current rod and choose that length.

its a derlin rod , Im afraid of wooden rods - this on is slightly oversized hard to get through thimbles , but thats easy to fix in a drill press with sanding ,-and it may wear in, and the rod has a bow in it there agian once its held in place for a while that may go away , it will work even if it dont - overall its a good product at a fair price -and that is hard to come by these days -thank you October Country

glad to find a place that has some of the stuff for my old hawken style. It just took a while to get it, but after talking to a service rep, she explained about the holiday days off etc. I did send a question to some one and got kind of a snippy comment from him, but whatever. I will continue to order from you all. Wish you had brass thimbles with the part for a sling lol thanks.

The rod is definitely durable and will satisfy most of my needs. Solid construction. It is about 1" short of the original vintage T/C .50 Hawken rod. However, it does fulfill most duties I require of it.

Ordered the one listed for my gun and it fits great.Not near as afraid to break it as a wooden rod.Have ordered several times from October Country and everything arrived on time and packed well. Have even emailed them and called once about products and they are very quick to respond and very helpful.

I recently bought a used CVA Hawken in 54 cal. and with a 12 gauge barrel. It came with 2 wooden ramrods and I know these have a tendency to break, especially in cold weather, so before I broke the originals I ordered a replacement. I originally ordered the one for a CVA Hawken on October Country's replacement list, which was 3/8 inch diameter, this was too large for my gun, the barrel tennon sat too low in the stock, I think from too much wood sanded off when the kit was built. I wound up reordering a 5/16 diameter a little too long and cut it down. This one fits and is relatively secure in the gun. I will keep the 3/8 diameter for a range/cleaning rod for the gun. The only other issue is there is a lot of flex in these rods, but, because of this I do believe they are unbreakable.
